Martin Garber-Conrad is the Chief Executive Officer of Edmonton Community Foundation, the fourth largest community foundation in Canada, with assets of $500 million.
Martin has spent most of his career leading non-profit organizations where his accomplishments include several social housing projects, restoring/repurposing historic buildings and starting a social enterprise—Kids in the Hall Bistro--in Edmonton’s City Hall.
At the Foundation, Martin’s interests include their eight-year old Social Enterprise Fund that has successfully loaned $20 million to three dozen charities and non-profits in Alberta. The Foundation is working to further develop the social finance movement in Canada, including an initial commitment of $50 million of local impact investing.
