Jonathan is Director at Social Value Lab; a UK centre for social enterprise research, strategy, and impact reporting. His career spans almost 20 years working in the social enterprise sector and social research field. He writes and speaks regularly on issues relating to the development of social enterprise, including the role of the sector in public service reform, cross-sector collaboration, and new models of impact measurement and reporting.  Over many years he has researched the scale, scope and contribution of social enterprise in the UK and designed strategies and programmes to support its growth. He is currently part of the team delivering the Scottish Government’s main support programmes to unlock public service markets to the social enterprise sector and invest seedcorn capital in its development. He is a qualified social researcher, member of the Scottish Government’s Third Sector Research Forum, the UK SROI Network and Social Audit Network, and is active on the committees of the Social Research Association in Scotland and Scottish Evaluation Network. Jonathan is also founder and director of the new non-profit R&D Centre, Social Innovation Scotland.
