Detaining a Canadian Agricultural Leadership University Certificate and a Master Diploma in Community Economic Development, Ethel Côté has worked in the economic, social, cultural and environmental sectors for thirty years. Her commitment to sustainable community development has given her the opportunity to work with many communities in rural and urban areas in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nunavut, British Columbia, Quebec, Mali, Niger and Congo - RDC. Over the years, she has acquired proven and diversified expertise in management, planning, organizational development, social finance and communication including social media. To this day,  one hundred fifty organizations and social enterprises have used her services and more than 10 000 leaders have been trained during workshops and courses  she delivered. As an entrepreneur she established 2 successful businesses and a few years ago, she joined the Canadian Centre for Community Renewal team as a Social Enterprise Practitioner and Developer and Certified Trainer of the Transition movement. She was nominated as one of the three Business Women 2013 from le Réseau des femmes d'affaires francophones du Canada.  As a Canadian she has received the  Chevalier de la Pléiade from l’Ordre de la Francophonie, the Certificat and Prix d’honneur coopératif from the Conseil de la coopération de l’Ontario and the Premier CIWARA from the Réseau national d’appui à la promotion de l’économie sociale et solidaire (RENAPESS) of Mali in recognition of excellence in development. She is proud co-founding member of the Social Enterprise Council of Canada.
